Abstract

The decomposition of ammonium perchlorate by a pulsed excimer laser at reduced pressures has been studied. Transient emission spectra from nascent products are presented and OH, NH, ClO radical species are positively identified. From the temporal behavior of the emission bands, the high-temperature oxidation reaction pathways are inferred.
