Abstract

Continuous wave CO 2 laser-photosensitized (SF 6) decomposition of thiophene yields gaseous CS 2, methane, C 2 hydrocarbons and a solid sulfur-containing deposit which is characterised by FTIR, SEM and XPS techniques and assumed to be a polymer formed by complex radical reactions.
