Abstract

Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) for my- opic anisometropic amblyopia. Methods LASIK was performed in 8 myopic anisometropic amblyopia pa- tients, the mean preoperative and postoperative spherical equivalent refraction and stereo acuity were compared. Preoperative best spectacle corrected visual acuity and postoperativelday, 3day, 10day uncorrected visual acu- ity and 6-9month following-up uncorrected visual acuity and best spectacle corrected visual acuity were com- pared and analyzed. Results The mean preoperative spherical equivalent refraction was -10.06D±1.50D,after LASIK,the mean postoperative spherical equivalent refraction was0.19D±0.32D. The improvement in stereo acuity was statistically significant (z=-2.207, P=0.027).On general, the improvement of postoperative uncor- rected visual acuity was statistically significant (F=11.431; P =0.000).Conclusion Laser in situ keratomilens can reduce myopic anisometropia safely and effectively. It can improve visual acuity and stereo acuity also. Key words: Laser in situ keratomileusis; Myopic anisometropia ; Amblyopia; Visual acuity
