Abstract

Electrical accidents continue to rank high in research and industry. Electricity is an accessible, convenient, and efficient source of energy with limitless applications. Unfortunately, we tend to look more closely at the product or output of our electrically powered equipment, devices, machines, and appliances than at the integrity of the electrical delivery, use, and safety systems. Laser equipment, apparatus, and machines are no different in this regard. While Laser energy is hazardous and can cause serious debilitating injury, electric shock accidents with Laser equipment can be very serious and all to frequently culminate in fatality. A risk based flow chart and decision tree process approach to electrical safety with Laser equipment will be presented.Electrical accidents continue to rank high in research and industry.
