Abstract
Results are presented of an experimental investigation of the amplifier characteristics and temperature measurements of the upper laser level and the progressive tempeature of the working medium of a pumping electrical discharge CO2 laser in the range of pumping power variation 18–65 kW. It is shown that growth of the progressive temperature of the active medium is the main reason for degradiation of laser operation efficiency at large (above 50 kW) values of the pumping power.
