AbstractIn the past years, the number of laser applications has risen worldwide. Along with that, the variety of the applications grew. The high‐power laser beam was first used in series production for cutting and welding. With decreasing prices and increasing quality of beam sources, applications that have been too expensive or technically not feasible in the past can be realized today. Mercedes‐Benz, the main brand of the Daimler AG, was one of the first users of lasers in series production and still expands the use of the laser beam as a wear‐free tool.
