Abstract

Recent archaeological research in Segobriga provides significant amounts of evidences on burial urban areas, complemented by ancient finds and data from excavations carried out in the last decades of the twentieth century. Simultaneously, epigraphical, architectural and sculptural studies can be used to approach the sepulcral landscape of the ancient necropolis. This article presents an overview of the Early Imperial city from the perspective of the cemeteries, where burial areas are distributed along the road system creating large viae sepulcrales .
