Abstract

During the past several decades, a number of theories studying romantic relationships and love styles have emerged. Based on these theories, it seemed interesting to study the romantic relationships of 120 students of the Faculty of Education at the University of Granada and confirm the correlation with gender difference, determining if they differ in the importance they attach to different styles of love. To do this, we administered the Scale of Attitudes on Love (LAS). The results indicate that among women the most accepted style of love is Eros while in men it is Ludus. In the Agape and Mania styles there is a clear difference between women and men, as the men obtained higher scores than expected. In the styles of Pragma and Storge love indifference, regardless of gender is shown. We analyze and discuss the results.
