Abstract

Lymphoma involving the larynx is rare and accounts for less than 1% of laryngeal neoplasms (Dickson 1971; Anderson et al, 1976). The larynx may be the primary site of lymphoma or be secondarily involved from systemic disease. We could not find any previous reports about Hodgkin's disease of the larynx in the literature. A 16-year-old West Indian presented with malaise and loss of 6 kg in weight in the preceding six months. The main feature on clinical examination was the presence of large hard painless lymph nodes in both supraclavicular areas. The blood film showed a leucocytosis of 28 300. A histological diagnosis of nodular sclerosing type Hodgkin's disease was made on lymph node and bone marrow biopsies.
