Large-scale experiments for copper extraction by bacterial heap leaching of the chalcopyrite predominant ore of Rosia Poieni.

Abstract

The paper presents the principal aspects of the researches, from lab work to large-scale experiments, achievements for the elaboration of the technology for the recovery of copper from low-grade ores extracted in the quarry, from the copper deposit of Rosia Poieni, using bacterial leaching procedures. On the basis of the research, „The technology for the recovery of copper from low-grade with predominant content of primary sulphides, through bacterial leaching processes recovery extraction with the organic extractant Acorga M 5640” has been homologated.
