Abstract

Neodymium laser passively Q-switched with saturable crystalline absorber and SBS- mirror is numerically studied. Explanation are given for the laser beam spot-size widening: It is shown that this phenomenon is, most probably, due to non-perfect phase conjugation at SBS process switched by intracavity radiation. Data of numerical simulations of the laser, accounting this phenomenon, are compared with experiment. It is demonstarted that calculated output energy and pulse duration are in good agreement with those measured experimentally.
