Highlights

  • Ovarian tumors and tumor-like masses in the gravidpuerperium period are uncommon, with incidences ranging from 0.1 to 4.5 %, and an average incidence of 1% [1,2,3]

  • LSLFCPP is a very rare lesion, most of which occur during pregnancy

  • Our case of LSLFCPP showed many clinicopathologic pictures similar to those described in the previous literatures [3,4,5,6]; e.g., large, unilateral, unilocular rapidly growing cysts and the presence of luteinized theca cells

Summary

Introduction

Ovarian tumors and tumor-like masses in the gravidpuerperium period are uncommon, with incidences ranging from 0.1 to 4.5 %, and an average incidence of 1% [1,2,3]. Non-neoplastic lesions include luteoma, ectopic decidua, hyperreaction luteinalis, hilus cell hyperplasia, granulosa cell proliferations, and large solitary luteinized cyst of pregnancy and puerperium (LSLFCPP) [3,4]. LSLFCPP is a very rare lesion, most of which occur during pregnancy. We describe an interesting case of 35-year-old patient who had a newly developed LSLFCPP in the postpartum.
