Abstract
Since most image defogging methods require complex image filtering computation, they cannot work effectively under large size real time image and video scenarios. In this work, targeting this problem, a large size single image computation acceleration bilateral filtering based defogging (CABFD) scheme is presented. And aiming for large size video real time defogging on smart TV, a simplified filtering alternative and the corresponding FPGA defogging architecture are also introduced. The experiments and the comparisons show that the proposed large size image fast defogging approach is effective and practical. And the proposed FPGA defogging architecture can be directly applied to realize Full HD (1920 × 1080) video displaying with real time synchronous defogging.
