Abstract

A human hepatoma-derived growth factor (HDGF) was purified to homogeneity on a large scale by a combination of Biorex-70 cation exchange chromatography and heparin-Sepharose affinity chromatography. HDGF is a cationic 18,500 molecular weight polypeptide, and is active at about 1 ng/ml in promoting cell proliferation.
