Abstract

ZnO/SnS, ZnS/SnS and ZnS/ZnO/SnS nanocomposites were synthesized by a simple chemical precipitation method, which is easy handling and large scale production. The crystal structure and morphology of the product were investigated by various characterization techniques such as powder X-ray diffraction, electron microscopy, UV–vis absorption, photoluminecence and thermal anaysis. The crystal strucure, dislocation density (x1015 of ZnO/SnS (6.76), ZnS/SnS (9.78) and ZnS/ZnO/SnS (9.44)) and size of the nanocomposites were calculated from XRD spectra. The optical properties were investigated by UV–vis absorption (UV/vis) and Photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy. The PL emission covered in both UV and visible region. Thermal stability and deformation of sample was analyzed by TG-DTA in air atmosphere.
