Abstract

The evidence for the survival of a dense meteoroidal swarm close to the orbit of Comet Encke is briefly outlined. Some preliminary attempts to model the interactions of this swarm with the terrestrial atmosphere are described with particular reference to the requirement that the atmospheric greenhouse and its isotopic anomalies undergo similar periodic modulations.
