Abstract

Large scale of electrical vehicles (EV) would be considerable potential storage capability of frequency regulation in the future power systems. However, it is a challenge how to control the whole adjustment of EV cluster, so as to meet the requirement from power dispatch center in real time. This paper proposes a large scale control strategy for EV cluster storage participating in frequency regulation, which based on pinning distributed control theory. The pinning node, amongst the EV cluster, would receive the requirement from power dispatch center in real time, and transfer to other EV agent nodes in the cluster. Based on the communication links among EV agent nodes, each node exchanges the state information and iterates its own state, until every node reaches the unanimous state, which means consensus protocol. In this research background, every EV agent node would de-load or discharge the same percentage. The simulation cases show the effectiveness of the large scale control strategy proposed in this paper.
