Large N reduced models and stochastic quantization

Abstract

We study the reduction of degrees of freedom for large N matrix models, by means of the stochastic quantization procedure. This provides a simple proof of the validity of the reduction in perturbation theory. In addition, a large class of reduced models are constructed which contain as particular cases those considered previously in the literature.
