Large increase of cosmic-ray intensity following solar flare on February 23, 1956

Abstract

In a Letter to Editor* under the above title, the increase of cosmic-ray intensity during the solar flare of February 23, 1956, was shown graphically for Cheltenham and Godhavn. The increase observed at Huancayo and at Ciudad Universitaria, Mexico, D.F., was briefly described on the basis of preliminary reports. The purpose of this note is to correct errors on the graph for Godhavn, which arose from typographical mistakes in the cabled results, and to provide details of the increase at Huancayo, Mexico, and Christchurch. Figure 1 herewith shows the results for five stations.
