Abstract

Large Eddy Simulation is used for the prediction of turbulent statistics and flow structure of shock wave boundary layer interaction over an expansion-compression corner at Mach 4. The first step for such calculation is creating the inflow conditions. The inflow conditions for the simulation of shock wave turbulent boundary layer interaction over an expansion-compression corner are created using the Large Eddy Simulation of a flat plate with the newly introduced Ht&p recycling-rescaling method. The predicted inflow conditions are in good agreement with the experimental data. The result of this simulation is used as the dynamic turbulent inflow condition of the expansion-compression corner. The predicted surface pressure is in agreement with the experimental data.
