Abstract

In this study, we propose a numerical algorithm for a nonlinear large displacement analysis method using flat shell elements in the hybrid-type penalty method (HPM). First, we describe the flat plate elements of HPM using the local coordinate system. Even with a flat plate, the adjacent elements have an angle at which a large displacement occurs. Next, we propose the relative displacement in this case. The “step-by-step method” is used as the algorithm for material nonlinear analysis and large displacement analysis. Finally, the accuracy of the solution of the proposed method is verified using a simple numerical example.
