Abstract

By the pole assignment theorem for linear controllable systems, there exists a linear feedback yielding the closed-loop system with any given set of eigenvalues. Systems with non-zero initial conditions are studied, and we prove that large deviations of trajectories arise for large eigenvalues as well as for small ones. Invariant ellipsoids techniques to minimize the maximal deviation are provided and its properties are examined.
