Abstract
An analytic solution of large amplitude bending vibration for linear triatomic molecules is given. The matrix elements of the total vibrational Hamiltonian are then evaluated in the basis of these bending eigenfunctions and the Morse oscillator eigenfunctions. The vibrational energy expression, similar to the usual one, can be obtained by perturbation treatment and used to fit the experimental data.
