Abstract

Abstract The authors describe the background and plans for a two-level earth-sheltered building that will house the Arctic Centre museum, to be built in Rovaniemi, Finland. In 1983, a competition for the design of the structure was won by a Danish architecture firm. First-phase construction of the project is expected to be completed by 1992, the 75th anniversary of Finland's independence.
