Abstract

This paper presents a stabilized Lagrange-multiplier formulation for Euler-Lagrange type fluid-structure interaction (FSI) computations. The formulation adds a Laplacian perturbation term to the multiplier equation to relax over-constraint condition caused by the multimer formulation. The over-constraint occurs when the Euler mesh for fluid computation is finer than Lagrange meshes for structures around the FSI interfaces. We show a two-dimensional computation that demonstrates relaxation effect of the proposed method.
