Abstract

This is a 38 years-old woman with infertility for 2 years and mild pain in the last year. Pre-operative MRI showed a 3,7 cm lesion of the rectosigmoid infiltrating the muscular layer. The first surgery included extensive ureterolysis, resection of the proximal left parametrium and shaving of the rectal nodule. Five days after surgery she had an acute pain and developed signs of peritonitis. Laparoscopy revealed a 2cm opening of the rectum and a moderate amount of purulent secretion in the abdominal cavity.
