Abstract

Laparoscopic paravaginal repair is used for the correction of lateral vaginal defects and should be in the armamentarium of the advanced laparoscopic surgeon. The paravaginal repair involves the reattachment of the pubocervical fascia of the vagina to its correct anatomic attachment at the arcus tendineus fascia pelvis, or white line. Occasionally, however, the arcus is too weak to adequately repair the defect and additional reinforcement is needed. We have successfully used Cooper's ligament to add strength to our paravaginal repairs.
