Abstract

Cesarean scar ectopic pregnancy is a rare but potentially life-threatening entity complicating one in every 2000 pregnancies in women with a prior cesarean section. The optimal management of this condition remains uncertain, and is based on case reports and small observational studies. We present a systematic approach to the laparoscopic management of a case of cesarean scar ectopic pregnancy. This stepwise management includes, careful isolation of the mass via reflection of the vesicouterine peritoneum, vasopressin injection at the base of the mass, isolation of the uterine vessels, excision of the mass, hysteroscopic assessment of the cesarean scar defect and intracorporeal suturing of this defect.
