Abstract

Compared with pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD) and distal pancreatectomy (DP), central pancreatectomy (CP) is applied for the surgical treatment of benign or low-grade malignant tumor which locate in the pancreatic neck and body. Laparoscopic central pancreatectomy (LCP) is rapidly accepted as the advance of minimally invasive surgery, which generally needs more advanced technical requirement for the surgeons. A complicated case of laparoscopic pancreatectomy is successfully completed in our center. LCP is planned in the pre-operation evaluation. Finally, laparoscopic splenic vessel preserving distal pancreatectomy is performed due to the unlocated slim pancreatic duct. It is safe and feasible for laparoscopic pancreatectomy when advanced pancreatic techniques are available. Key words: Laparoscopy; Pancreatectomy
