Abstract

This article examines how use of the laparoscope assists in the removal of moderate-sized colonic polyps. The method used to remove larger lesions by inverting the colon with laparoscopically placed sutures and using an electrocautery snare to perform a fullthickness polypectomy of the opened bowel is also explained. Use of the laparoscope allows complete excision of moderate-sized sessile colonic polyps and may spare selected patients a laparotomy or a colonic resection.
