Abstract

The article presents the history of the emergence, existence and evolution of local ethnonyms as images of the mutual perception of Russians and Chinese. The genesis and changes in the semantics of these concepts reflect the complex processes of interethnic contacts and mutual perception of the Russian and Chinese populations on the territory of the Far East, Amur and Priargunsky District during the late 19 — mid 20 centuries, as well as the ethnic identification of the descendants of Russian-Chinese marriages in Trekhrechye (Sanhe). The empirical basis of the study are the materials of field studies of the ethnolocal group of the Russian Trekhrechye and Amur region.
