Abstract

Proofs of propositions about ordinary categories, e.g. the Yoneda Lemma, may often be reinterpreted to yield proofs of the equivalent propositions about enriched categories, without recourse to diagram-chasing. Elements of the homset are replaced by variables of the hom-type. The language may also be used to lift definitions to the enriched context in a natural way, e.g., natural transformation, strong monic.
