LANGUAGE MEANS OF EDUCATIONAL ORIENTATION IN V. P. KRAPIVIN’S SCIENCE FICTION WORKS FOR TEENAGERS

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to describe the results of identification and analysis of typical language means aimed at creating a sense of trust and justice as teenagers’ social and moral values in four stories by V. P. Krapivin from the science fiction cycle «In the depths of the Great Crystal» with a total volume of 176,580 words. The object of study is lexical units of linguistic concepts of «trust» and «justice». The subject of the study is the mechanisms of educational moral and ethical impact of the lexical representatives of these concepts on the teenage reader. Analytical-descriptive, contextual-interpretative, quantitative, statistical methods of linguistic research, as well as methods of component and conceptual analysis, an automated computer selection method for given bases from texts on electronic media were used in this study. As a result of the work, lexical tools were identified and their content plan, significant in the process of educational influence, was investigated, some mechanisms of the neurolinguistic influence of these lexical means on the adolescent’s consciousness were revealed. An attempt has been made to determine the proportions at which marker words contribute to the formation of high morality and spirituality, exerting an educational effect to a greater or lesser extent on the adolescent. Conclusions. The use of representatives of the concepts of «justice» and «trust» in V. P. Krapivin’s science fiction stories has the objective of actively educating teenage readers, since the indices of these lexical tools in the texts being analyzed are 1.73 and 1.5, respectively. The degree of influence of lexical means and the mechanisms of educational influence depend on the frequency of use of these means. An index significantly exceeding one indicates the target effect of the analyzed language tools on the reader’s mind. Such lexical units should be considered as key means.
