Abstract
In the following, a research project conducted by students will be presented. The project arose in the course of a linguistic seminar in which the topics “multilingualism and identity” were discussed at the University of Augsburg during the summer term 2018. First and foremost, the project examines the choice and usage of varieties by students at the Bavarian universities Augsburg, Regensburg and Passau. It focuses on which introspection the interviewed students have in connection with language choice and identity and which reasons they give.
