Abstract

Over the past few decades, the Gansu-Qinghai area has drawn the attention of many linguists Scholars have noticed that Sinitic languages in this area share some similar linguistic features. In particular, a case marking system is established in this area: nominative (zero marking), accusative/dative -xa or its allophone -a, instrumental/comitative -la or its variant form -lia, and ablative with different phonetic forms. It is known that in this area, Mongolic, Turkic and Amdo Tibetan languages have exerted influence upon the Sinitic languages, in addition to Standard Mandarin.
