Abstract

In this contribution we shall try to show the close relationship between religious and poetic language in the hermeneutics of H.G. Gadamer. The question of human Being has led the philosopher Gadamer to examine the question of understanding poetical writings, and this has brought him to recognize the theological model as a foundation of poetical language. We shall retrace the development of both languages which originally were one, in the tradition of greek mythology, and ask us in what way poetic language as a minor act of creation is related to the great creation act through the Word. The absolute Truth of the religious message appears in the poetic word as an eternal search of truth.
