Abstract

The vegetation area decrease in Tangerang City is in line with economic and population growth, impacting urban air temperature increase called urban heat island (UHI) phenomenon. Detected, UHI is closely related to land-use change. This research aims to reveal the Tangerang City air temperature trend in 2013 – 2020 and its relationship with UHI. A set of Landsat 8 is used to extract the land use and Land Surface Temperature (LST) information as a base to analyze the impact of land-use change on LST. The research shows that a high density of built-up areas has a strong correlation to UHI.
