Abstract
Abstract Over the last few years the ecological role of mass-movements in maintaining biodiversity became more aknowledged in scientific literature. Their disturbance effect on ecosystems ensures a high diversity of habitats in a background matrix, with certain effects on vegetation and fauna, at landscape level. We studied between 2009 and 2012 the interrelations between geomorphological features created by active landslides, aquatic habitats and pond-reproducing herpetofauna species, from a study area located in the Subcarpathian part of Doftana river valley (Curvature Subcarpathians, Prahova County, Romania).
