Abstract

ABSTRACTThe node of vision-representation is the beating heart of architecture, the step before the project. Re-presentation implies a double focus: awareness of the coexistence of a double plane, of both visibility and invisibility, otherwise re-presentation would make no sense. In fact, it consists of moving something invisible to the plane of visibility, from where it offers itself to be seen. What we normally see is but a small part of what is there, which is an important issue for architecture. We should be aware that reformulating landscape means at first the reformulation of the landscapes of our interiority. This process, a disciplinary practice, is carried by bildung, which is the visual collection of laws regulating the process from knowledge to project through theory and image. Discipline is the way to reach the very limits of knowledge, the possibility of moving it farther on.
