Abstract
The article presents the results of landscape zoning of the territory of the Buturlinsky district of the Nizhny Novgorod region, carried out on the basis of field research, analysis of maps, literary sources and remote sensing data of the Earth. Landscape zoning is performed at the hierarchical level of landscapes. For each of the landscapes the most significant characteristics from the point of view of establishing the disturbance and vulnerability of the landscape are calculated: wooded, ploughing. The materials, presented in the article, are the basis for further geoecological research, primarily to determine the ecological potential of the researched territory.
