Abstract

The steady laminar boundary layer flow along a semiinfinite flat plate parallel to the main stream velocity is considered when the shear stress is assumed to be proportional to then-th power of the velocity gradient wheren<0. Meksyn’s method of solving boundary layer equations is applied to the above problem and good results are obtained for values ofn very near unity. It is found that solutions only exist for values ofn in the, range 0<n≤1.
