Abstract

This article introduces a semester-length activity designed to foster a critical consciousness among Lambda Pi Eta (LPH) members. Through discussion-based workshops on campus public memory, LPH members learn to think critically about how universities celebrate their history in a manner that perpetuates hegemonic power relations. Then, LPH members deliver original policy speeches in which they practice advocating for transformations in campus public memory at universities with LPH chapters. Ultimately, this activity offers LPH members a chance to rehearse being change agents for social justice in their communities and beyond. Course Lambda Pi Eta chapter meetings. Objective Lambda Pi Eta members will learn to critically examine and advocate for transformative change in campus public memory practices.
