Abstract

In this paper, we present the dispersion relation of Lamb waves propagating along one-dimensional phononic and along nesting Fibonacci superlattices, using the plane wave expansion and stiffness matrix methods. More band gaps of Lamb wave appear in nesting Fibonacci superlattices plates than in phononic composite plates. Effect of substrate on band gap structures of nesting Fibonacci composite model is analyzed. In addition, the influence of widths of the materials’ strips on the band structure is discussed. Finds could be relevant to understand the intrinsic physical properties of quasi-periodic composites piezoelectric and provide flexible choices to meet real engineering applications.
