Abstract

In the present paper, we describe Lajonquierea koshkini sp. nov., a new species from lowland rainforests of northern Borneo. This species is a sister species to Lajonquierea mediofasciata (Grunberg, 1913) distributed in montane rainforests of Borneo. The new species can easily be distinguished by its wing coloration and forewing pattern. Additionally, the male genitalia of Lajonquierea koshkini sp. nov. differ from those of Lajonquierea mediofasciata by the thin and curved valves with the small spine-like basal processes, as well as by the wide finger-like terminal processes at the cubile arms (they are spine-like in Lajonquierea mediofasciata). The new species is dedicated to Evgeny S. Koshkin, a Russian entomologist.
