Abstract

In this chapter, we discuss the design of wave digital filters based on doubly resistively terminated ladder structures consisting of lossless commensurate-length transmission lines. Wave digital filters (WDF) inherit the low element sensitivity properties from their analog counterparts, which have been designed for maximum power transfer in the passband. Hence, simple and short coefficients can potentially be used in the wave digital filters. Also, the dynamic signal range is large, and the roundoff noise is low in these low sensitivity filter structures.
