Abstract
Non compaction cardiomyopathy (NCC) is associated with excessive trabeculation, increased intertrabecular recesses, inadequate myocardial compaction, reduced end-diastolic wall thickness, elevated wall stress, reduced myocardial strain, impaired ejection fraction and annular displacement [1]. Mitral annulus enlargement and functional impairment in NCC are closely related to a higher incidence and severity of mitral regurgitation (MR). We demonstrate a rare case of severe MR and lack of mitral leaflet coaptation in an asymptomatic young woman with NCC who visited our echocardiography laboratory in outpatient basis.
