Abstract

POLYINOSINIC polycytidylic acid (poly I · poly C) is a potent inducer of interferon and produces resistance to viral infection in vivo and in vitro1–5. Its action in protecting animals and tissue culture preparations against the tumour inducing and focus forming properties of the Moloney strain of murine sarcoma virus (MSV–M) has been described6–9, and we have now investigated the effects of quantity of virus, strain of mouse and concentrations of induced interferon on the anti-MSV–M action of poly I · poly C.
