PreviewPrimary care physicians need to be familiar with the distinctive clinical and laboratory characteristics of hereditary red cell disorders. Drs Monzon and Taylor profile the hemolytic anemias and describe the laboratory tests routinely used to diagnose them. They encourage open communication between clinician and pathologist.
