Abstract

[It is hoped that this article will prove of interest, not only to those chemistry teachers who are so fortunate as to be about to have the privilege of helping to design their own new laboratories but also to many others who want to keep informed in regard to recent advances in the matter of materials and construction. In the case of teachers who are actively engaged in planning laboratories it is urged that they get in touch with their architects very early in the course of the planning so that they may not be handicapped by previous determination of structural members. For those who are not acquainted with it the splendid volume on Laboratory Construction and Equipment gotten out in 1930 by the National Research Council and published by The Chemical Foundation is highly recommended.
