Abstract

This article presents the results of research conducted in ten banana farms in the northern of the Los Ríos, Ecuador. The objective was to identify the occupational hazards to which workers are exposed that affect the safety and health of agricultural workers. The methodology used was a mixed approach; the Matrix of Labor Risks of the Ministry of Labor Relations of Ecuador (MRL) was applied to 298 workers, which establishes the guidelines to identify, evaluate and control risks. Also, the matrix GTC 45 was applied, to identify from the care of cultivation, harvesting and packing of twenty-four jobs.
